I have been collecting old albums, some of the same that my dad played when I was small. There is one song that I cannot think of the artist nor the song title, but the first line of the chorus is "Here and there, everywhere...." and at the end of the chorus they mention Wait upon the Lord. That may even be the song title. As I am going to be 45 years old on Thanksgiving day, that would mean this album is from the early to mid-60's. Can any of you historians out there lend a hand in maybe determing who the artist is on this song?

This is not the original cut, but I have this song on a project by the Pine Ridge Boys called "Heaven Bound"

The song is "Wait Upon the Lord." I have four renditions in my collection:

Blackwood Brothers with R.W. and Bill Lyles - recorded in the 40s or 50s, reissued on CD a few years ago

Florida Boys featuring Billy Todd, on At Carnegie Hall (about 1959)

Florida Boys again on True Gospel in 1974, this time featuring Buddy Liles

Palmetto State Quartet in 1997 on 50 Year Celebration, featuring Harold Gilley and Brion Carter

So if it's one of those renditions, it's probably either the Florida Boys or the Blackwood Brothers.

Thank you both for your answers. I will check my dad's collection Mr. Mount as he has quite a few old Blackwood Brothers albums.

OK. By the way, I think the Blackwood Brothers version I have pre-dated LPs, since it was Bill Lyles. It came from a radio transcription originally.

Of course, they may have always done it on an LP, too.

I also have an album by the PLAINSMEN QUARTET, early to late 60's
with Jay Simmons on the bass. If I can help let me know.
