hey ladies,

My sister is getting married in July, at which time I will be 6 months pregnant. I will be her maid of honor and am wearing an orange (yes, orange!) strapless, empire waist bridesmaid dress.
This is it (but I won't be wearing the belt):

What are my options for bras? Anyone ever found a comfortable strapless bra that can be worn with a belly? i definitely need some kind of support so I can dance the night away...or at least not fall out of the top of the dress!

Could you have the dress altered to add straps or wear some kind of wrap?

I think I am going to have spaghetti straps added for dancing...but can't have straps added that will be big enough to cover bra straps - not an option.

Another option is getting a bra which has those clear straps ... that way you still have the support you need, without everyone seeing the straps.

I would recommend just going and trying on bras... or asking at the bridal shop. They tend to have all sorts of ideas and products. =)

It would depend on how much support you need, but I have seen, and in fact have owned (when I was much younger) a strapless bra that was basically like a shaped tube top. It only had boning on the sides, and therefore you should be able to wear something like that with or without a belly. Actually, any sort of bra that doesn't come down under where say an underwire is should be able to do what you want it to do. Ideally the underwire, or bottom of the bra should be laying against your rib cage anyway, and snug under your breasts, and so you shouldn't have to look for "maternity" ones... just ones that will work for you. =) (just avoid those "long line" types =) )

I agree with Gina...go try them on and see what they have available. Every pregnancy is different in the way you carry, so what might work for one pregnancy might not work for another...esp if you are carrying high.

I would recommend getting fitted for a strapless bra at say Victoria Secret or a similar establishment, close to the wedding. It doesn't have to be a 'maternity bra'. If you're not nursing any good support bra will do.
