This story, on yahoo news Stone Tablet is about an ancient Jewish tablet being found. it talks about a coming Messiah rising three days after death and it seems it was part of the Jewish literature. I found it interesting. I still put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as my Savior and I still believe. What do y'all think?

Time will tell of it's authenticity. Also this supports some of the Christian apologists who believe that the JEws WERE LOOKING for a crucified savior as mentioned in the scriptures. Many believe that they were looking for a DAVID style leader. However this may prove as I have thought all along and some debated scripture clearly indicated that some hebrew sects were looking for a crucified Savior. Time will tell, may help us in the long run, especially those of me and may give strength to some verses in scriptures that scholars have doubted for centuries. This is why our faith cant' stand in apologetics in scholars in research because as man its' flawed and limited. Amen GOD

Yes, I am not sure why this is seen by some scholars as contradictory to the Gospels - Isaiah spoke of a suffering servant, and at least two Jews (Simeon and Anna) greeted Jesus' birth as a fulfillment of the promise of the coming Christ and the redemption of Israel.

There are some scholars who seem to try to throw disrepute on the Scriptures every chance they get. It is a common accusation that the Judeo-Christian accounts are a ripoff of some other religion's belief. As soon as some discovery is made, these charges are immediately tossed out before the indepth research is finished. Here is a good example that is masterfully disassembled.

His books are great too, Marcus! I just finished "The Case for the Real Jesus" and am currently in the middle of "The Case for Christ". He even refutes in them all the Mithras et al "similarities". I am probably going to be getting some of the books in his bibliographies since I am such an info junkie.

I'm with Jhud. The doubt they are casting on Christianity only demonstrates their ignorance of Christianity. For example, “This should shake our basic view of Christianity,” he said as he sat in his office of the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem where he is a senior fellow in addition to being the Yehezkel Kaufman Professor of Biblical Studies at Hebrew University. “Resurrection after three days becomes a motif developed before Jesus, which runs contrary to nearly all scholarship. What happens in the New Testament was adopted by Jesus and his followers based on an earlier messiah story.” DUH--The entire OT is a build up to the resurrection after three days. And this made me wonder: “His mission is that he has to be put to death by the Romans to suffer so his blood will be the sign for redemption to come,” Mr. Knohl said. “This is the sign of the son of Joseph. This is the conscious view of Jesus himself. This gives the Last Supper an absolutely different meaning. To shed blood is not for the sins of people but to bring redemption to Israel.” ??? The idea of Christ bringing redemption through His blood is NOT new. I don't understand their confusion on this.
