I bought "The gulag archipelago" in 1981 and still haven't finished it.

I read the entire series in college. The stories that he told of the Bolshevik Revolution and the Soviets were amazing and horrifying. The evil that was committed to bring the new Communist regime to power and keep it there was beyond belief.

I just found this thought everyone would enjoy it. A World Split Apart by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn By Editorial Staff Published June 1978 Commencement Address Delivered At Harvard University I am sincerely happy to be here with you on the occasion of the 327th commencement of this old and illustrious university. He was truly a great writer. I read "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" in high school and have never forgotten it. It has had that much of an impact on me and the way I think about the concentration camps of that era. A truly freightning but important story he told.
