Metro Prayer for July 18, 2008
Volunteers from the organization Meals on Wheels bring hot a nutritious meal, a safety check and independence to homebound individuals in the Metro Area. However, many volunteers have had to quit due to high gas prices. Please pray that the Lord would open the heavens of provision over this organization so that they can continue helping people remain in their own homes for as long as they want.
John 13:35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Each day, Open Door Mission Ministries provides 320 men, women, and children with safe shelter beds, serves nearly 1,500 hot nutritious meals, and and the gospel to more than 250 families living in poverty. They also have a ministry called King’s Kloset that provide gently-used clothing, shoes, house wares, furniture, appliances, food, and fans. There is a need for more items for the Kloset, particularly fans as there is a high demand. As the Open Door Mission is the largest ministry to the poor in the Metro area please pray that the Lord would draw volunteers and those that will give regularly to the Mission.
Psalms 34:6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.
Project Omaha is an exciting new North Omaha job initiative that will provide job training and skills to those seeking employment. Mutual of Omaha and Blue Cross are working with Project Omaha providing training and potential jobs. Please pray that this initiative will prove to be successful as other companies in the Metro area are interested in participating.
Also pray for the applicants as they learn new skills and apply for jobs.
Psalms 31:24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

I pray that the Lord does amazing things in this situation and lets noone slip away from him. I pray that the Lord will bring whomever has been lost and strayed away from him will come back to him and that Gods words will flow through these churches and that they will know the truth and not listen to any false teachings..Let his words shine through and the truth be told!!

Father,
In Jesus' name we pray for the poor and for those who are working to help them to get a fresh start. Please help those who cannot get food for themselves and bless those who supply food for them. Cause no barrier or challenge to prevent getting food to the helpless. Please guide and bless the efforts of every organization that endeavors to draw people to you. Amen.
