Metro Prayer for July 11, 2008
The Omaha World Herald reported that more Nebraska children left the state's
child welfare system than entered it during the two years since Gov. Dave
Heineman issued directives aimed at reducing the number of state wards.The
governor called the trend a major accomplishment that reversed a steady
climb in the number of state wards. The governor has plans for the
following: To prioritize cases of children age 5 and younger, to find
permanent homes for children who have been out of their homes for over 15
months and to work with schools to reduce truancy cases. All this is good
news and answered prayer. Please continue to pray for the children still in
the foster care system.
Psalm 10:14 But you, O God, do see trouble and grief;
you consider it to take it in hand.The victim commits himself to you; you
are the helper of the fatherless.
Good News Jail and Prison Ministry was formed for the purposes of witnessing
to inmates and their families; providing physical and spiritual
rehabilitation of men and women upon their release from prison; providing
Bible correspondence course and a life learning program.
Intercede on behalf
of the inmates for open hearts to the gospel. Also pray for enough mentors
to minister to the inmates.
Hebrews 13:1 Keep on loving each other as brothers.
Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have
entertained angels without knowing it.
Remember those in prison as if you
were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you
yourselves were suffering.
Please stand in the gap for the city council as they meet every Tuesday
evening. May the Lord grant humility to the mayor and the council and a
willingness to work together for the good of the city. Also ask that God
would grant wisdom, courage and integrity out on our city officials.
1 Timothy 2:1

thanksgiving be made for everyone…for kings and all those in authority, that
we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."

pray for true revival to happen in Omaha Nebraska and
pray for churches in the Omaha area that have fallen into false teachings will turn back to sound doctrine and
pray for those in the area that have fallen away from Jesus will turn back torwads JESUS

Father,
Please guide the leaders of the state welfare system regarding organization and funding to do what is truly good. Also, help the prisoners to become receptive to you; to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior; and to live your way of love. May all of those (churches & individuals) who are not in line with your Word, the Bible to see the light. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
