Family association says preacher changed story about involvement -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: June 27, 2008 5:59 pm Eastern © 2008 WorldNetDaily Kirbyjon Caldwell A campaign worker for Barack Obama and the Texas Methodist pastor who advises President Bush have been linked to a website that bashes prominent Christian leader and Focus on the Family founder James Dobson. The site, called "jamesdobsondoesntspeakforme," appeared just days ago after Dobson criticized Obama's interpretation of the Bible during a 2006 speech and Obama responded essentially by calling Dobson a liar, accusing him of "making things up." Now a report from OneNewsNow, a division of the American Family Association, said the website originally was registered to Obama campaign worker Alyssa Martin, but the registration later was changed to Kirbyjon Caldwell, who leads a Methodist megachurch in Texas and has advised Bush. Donald Wildmon, chairman of the AFA, suggested Caldwell could do some explaining about his participation in the campaign to bash Dobson, the author of "Bringing Up Boys" and dozens of other family books. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=68181

You might just want to Google both the site and Alyssa Martin, instead of posting links to "news" stories from Donald (censorship) Wildmon. Then you'd see this - quote:
We are a coalition of pastors and other Christians, led by Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell who are standing up for our Christian faith and supporting Barack Obama. We are signing in our individual capacities and not on behalf of our churches or denominations. There was recently a Time Magazine article that implies this website was part of a premeditated plan to attack Dr. James Dobson. Unfortunately, I was never contacted or given an opportunity to comment on the article. Nothing could be further from the truth. This website was created to directly respond to comments made by Dr. Dobson in his June 24 broadcast and to set the record straight about Senator Obama and his deep Christian faith. It was created to respond to Dr. Dobson in a spirit of love and lift up a candidate we think is the best choice for our country. The reason over 10,000 individuals have signed up is because they believe in a positive, affirming vision of the United States, not because they believe in attacking Dr. Dobson. Sincerely, - Kirbyjon Caldwell http://jamesdobsondoesntspeakforme.com/ quote:
Hello, all! My name is Alyssa Martin, and I’m excited to be interning with the Religious Affairs department of the Obama campaign. I will be posting regular updates, and I look forward to having many positive faith-based discussions over the course of the summer. But first, allow me to introduce myself: Originally from heartland Nebraska, I am a rising junior at Stanford University. I plan to double major in International Relations and Religious Studies my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/alyssamartin/Greetings I find it hard to believe you consider this college kid such a threat!
