Please pray for one of my Compassion International children, Mary. I found out today that she has dropped out of the program. They didn't have any information about it, other than that she hasn't been attending her project anymore. She's an orphan and lives in Kenya, where there has been a lot of recent violence, so I don't know if that might have something to do with it. I had only been sponsoring her for a few months, so I don't know much about her faith and if she knows Jesus already. Please pray for her salvation, and for God to take care of her.

I'm feeling pretty sad about the whole thing. I really felt like God led me to sponsor this particular little girl, so this turn of events has me confused. Has anyone else been through a similar situation?

Thanks in advance for your prayers.

Lord I pray that you would be with ames.
Ease her mind and fears Lord
I pray Lord for the child she cares so much for.
I pray she will be in your protective arms.
I pray Lord she will come to know you as her Lord and Savior
Be with them both Lord and draw them nearer to you
May their lives glorify you Lord
In Jesus name
Amen

Greetings in Christ! My husband and I have sponsored several Compassion children over the last twenty years, all of them dear to us. Some we've had for years and years, while others we have for just a few short months to a couple years before they leave the program for some reason. Sometimes we've known the reason, and other times we've never learned why. Put dear Mary into God's hands. She's precious to Him. May the Lord do mighty things in her life, and may she rejoin Compassion again somewhere along the way, and may she be safe in His great, loving, strong arms. You have such a loving and caring heart, Ames01.

Psalm 63:1-8 (ESV)
O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh faints for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary, beholding Your power and glory. Because Your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless you as long as I live; in Your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips, when I remember You upon my bed, and meditate on You in the watches of the night; for You have been my help and in the shadow of Your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.

Thank you to everyone who responded, and also to those who may have said a prayer without posting. :)

Joninon, thanks for sharing your experiences. Have you ever had a child leave the program and then rejoin at some point later on? That's what I'm hoping will happen.

Hi! I've had children leave the program but have not been told if/when they might have rejoined the program. I think what might happen is that, if/when a child might rejoin the program, then they would be reassigned to a new sponsor since they probably are at a new location/center. You could call Compassion and ask if/how this could be the case with some children. I suspect that if/when a child relocates to a new area for whatever reason and then might sign up again for Compassion, they become like a new Compassion child all over again. It might be comforting to your heart to ask the kind people at Compassion (because my thoughts are only just my assumptions based on years of interaction with the organization). Blessings to you.
