Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) delivered a speech today in which he provided his vision of what the world might look like by the year 2013 if he is elected president. In 2013, McCain claimed, “the Iraq War has been won,” “Iraq is a functioning democracy,” a “newly formed League of Democracies” has gathered to “to stop the genocide” in Sudan, and the U.S. “has experienced several years of robust economic growth.” One reporter told McCain that his speech sounded more like “a magic carpet ride.”

McCain's Speech

Looks like McCain has been sipping too much of the new batch of grape juice (or perhaps he's showing early signs of dementia)

Do you believe that McCains claims are simply political posturing or does he really believe he can do "what no man has done before"?

It's called "believing in your country, and the hearts and wills of the people in it." Presidents used to do it all the time, from both parties. To a liberal that sounds like heresy, but it's true.

Yeah, it's that 'Vision thing', remember?

The current President had a vision, but turned out to have cataracts.

McCain needs to start defining himself beyond War Hero and Senator. Although, I doubt the Iraq scenario he points to working together with other countries on Sudan and having a better approach to domestic legislation.

You mean having vision like the "politics of hope" and "Change you can believe in" of the Obama campaign?

Yeah, let's continue with the age discrimination...

Personally, I can't afford the kind of "change" Obama has planned. I pay enough taxes.

God, I hope not. That gay-sex-affirming, abortion-loving, tax-raising yahoo would be a nightmare. But since apparently God wants him in, there's nothing we can do about it. As I said in another thread, American liberals have been crying out for a secular Messiah (since they want nothing to do with the real one, hi, Oprah!). Looks like they're about to have those prayers answered.
