Hey guys! So, I did a little digging around and found the original interview with The Jonas Brothers that CCM Magazine ran in May 2006 along with a review of their debut album later that year. Andy Argyrakis also recently highlighted the group's new album in this week's ! Album Alert. Links to all of these articles can be found at my blog here. Check them out!

Thanks, that was interesting. My youngest, (just-turned-13) is way head over heels over them, esp Joe. When she first became intersted in them, I think it was last November, I started doing some research on them to see just what they were all about, and I was very pleased with what I found. And everything I have read since that time confirms my view that they are truly wholesome, polite, wonderful kids, and Christians, to boot! Not all Christian kids are "wholesome, polite and wonderful" I might add. There are way too many Christian kids and adults who are the biggest jerks around. They came to our area last February, on their "Look Me In the Eyes" tour, and my kid begged me to get money out of her savings acct and buy tickets for her and her friend who is also a big fan, but we said no b/c it was on a Wednesday nite, which is a school nite, and also a church nite for us. The more I read about them and their parents, the more I think that they wouldn't have a bit of trouble understanding our reasoning. Unfortunately, the "Burnin' Up" tour didn't come anywhere near here this summer, otherwise I would have been glad to let her go, probably would have gone with her and friend, altho I would have probably come home with a hearing loss and disapointed that all I could hear was screaming girls, not the music. I asctually like their music, as it reminds me of the sweet sounds I grew up with, the innocence, etc, that is hard to find in modern pop music. Again, thanks for the link. I would love to get my hands on that first CD of theirs, but I heard they are being auctioned on ebay for upwards of $200!

I also wanted to mention that my dau actually had a birthday party on Aug 15 for Joe Jonas, b/c he was turning 19. she had 4 friends over, baked a cake, had a "19" in those numeral candles on it and had a picture "blow it out" They had lots of fun, in Joe's honor. They watched Camp Rock, and had a sleep over. She had blue frosting, blue napkins and plates, etc, b/c his favorite color is blue. Yes, she a little over-the-top, with this, but it is a phase, and "this too will pass". I'm an experienced mom, and I know I have to pick my battles, and this ain't one of them. I veiw it as pretty harmless, as long as she keeps up her schoolwork and such. I know some parents would disagree.

Thanks for the link ccmed! I'm a closet Jonas fan due to my 5 year old's love for Radio Disney. I do hope they continue to stay humble and grounded. The fact that one of them stated that he's saving his for marriage is HUGE for me...I think Joe. I even have a few songs on myccm page.

ORIGINAL: rockitd The fact that one of them stated that he's saving his for marriage is HUGE for me...I think Joe. I even have a few songs on myccm page. Actually that was all 3 of them. They all have purity rings, but they are tired of talking about it at this point. I have seen them on a few TV interveiw shows, I think 20/20 was the latest, and the interveiwer said, "OK, I know you're tired of talking about it..." and then went into the purity ring thing. And yes, they didn't want to talk about it. They just said something like. "Everybody already knows where we stand, no, we don't want to talk about it anymore", and acted just plain weary when asked about it. We have the Rolling Stone issue (of course) where they are on the cover, and there is a good article on them, and it addresses the purity ring thing, also a People magazine that came out in early June talks about it. those 2 pretty much cover it. I am glad they they are willing to come out and talk about it, even if they are tired of that question by now. I am always interested in what their parents have to say. On 20/20 the parents talked about the fact that they are/were not "stage parents", pushing reluctant kids into doing things for their own vicarious plesure, but it was always driven by the kids themselves who wanted to be in show business; first Nick and then Joe, (on Broadway) then Kevin who did comercials, then Nick was signed to do a solo album, but somehow, b4 he did it, the 3 got together and decided they wanted to be a band, not doing Christian music, but doing pop music. It seems at first, it was supposed to be just Nick as a solo Christian artist, back when he was 12 or somehing. And also it seems tht Nick, te youngest, is considered the "boss". He is the one who does a lot of song writing, etc, and figures our how exactly the song is to be performed. He is the "brains" behind the operation. I guess one thing I really like about them is that they don't wear their Christianity on their sleeves. They don't go out there and "preach", but it is evident that they are Christians. It's just natural for them, and such an integral part of who they are, that they don't have to make a big point about it, as in, "Hey, look at us, we're CHRISTIANS!"

That's awesome!!! Especially with all the girls clambering all over them. I pray that there are more songs like "Hold On" coming down the pipe because I feel the spiritual aspect to it. I love their musicianship, period. However, lyrically "I'm slipping into the lava/and I'm trying to keep from going under/..." is kinda cheesy. Love the music and Big Rob's rap, though.

Hannah Montana gave them a lot of exposure in having a whole episode around them. In some ways I think they get as much exposure as Miley does! You can't even go to Disney channel (even when surfing) without a picture of one or the other flashing on the screen.

I think there were some videos of Nick singing "Dear God" from the release that was sent to INO Records on YouTube (think there was another song that popped up a lot) live at some church a few months back, but some user that my sister speculated was trying to hide their Christian roots managed to get the videos of the song actually being sung removed (the others are where the song is background music with pictures of the group or lyrics). Speaking of lyrics, I read those and I was very impressed with the depth of the words (remember, this was about 3-4 years ago, when Nick was 11).

I've seen the "Dear God" video on you-tube. It's really sweet. Nick singing in a wonderful high soprano voice, b4 it changed, just a really sweet young-boy voice. I would love to get a CD of him at that age, but I'm sure that's not possible. I just wonder if it's part of their contract with Disney to kind of down-play their spirituality. It seems like Disney seems to like to sign Christian young people for their "wholesomeness" but maybe they don't want the reason behind the wholesomeness to be center stage, as it would turn away some fans. Or maybe that's a decision of the boys themselves. Not that it's really anyone's business that they don't talk about their Christianity much, but I wonder how that all plays out, with being in a contract and all. I get the impression that when you are under contract with Disney, they get to pretty much dictate where and when and how much you will work. It's a big Hmmm...
