There is no excuse for this. I think law enforcement here has to start getting very tough on people for this. Every year we hear about this but it is usually someone finding a dead child instead of a hot scared one.

The police were sending a report to the prosecutor's office, so she may end up in big trouble (as she should).

Probably but the impact that would make of being placed in handcuffs right there and taken off to jail would have shaken her like nothing else. At least I would hope so anyways.

She should have been arrested on the spot.

Gotta love that people who leave their pets in the car in the heat are arrested on the spot, but a woman who leaves babies in a car is free to go home and return to court on her own.
Absolutely disgusting.
(btw...not saying it's ok to leave pets in the car!)

She should have been arrested & charged on the scene, while the children that she had with her in the store were taken in to CPS along with the ones in the car.
