Hi, What I'm seeing is that if I type for a long enough period of time on a reply, the display changes back to the post I'm replying to, and my reply disappears. I have to click the taskbar button of the reply to bring it back. I didn't see this happening with my Windows 98 computer. My reply up and vanishes, my fingers are typing the reply, and the keystrokes must go to Never Neverland. I'm also not seeing the little green bar 'reply saver' feature, which I noticed was not a saving feature but a keep me logged on feature. Is that likely what is happening now, only with a greater processor speed and different OS, I can't see it? Just wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if it means there's going to be a lot of lost typing one day, because this was a huge leap in the technology. Thanks, OneJohn410

I switched to Vista from XP last October and experienced no difference in the way I interacted with these forums.

I use both Vista and XP between my various computers and have never had any problems with Vista on FCN Forums. (Notice the qualifier ... "on FCN Forums."

Vista is notorious for having glitches. It would not surprise me at all that you are having trouble while using that system.

I am coming thru the CCM Magazine forum portal? I have not sat down to observe all the internet settings or such yet. Is that what you meant, Ps103? Speaking of bumpy rides, this fine little HP Pavilion doesn't have a standard printer port on it, thus tada! No printer capability. I'm thinking of getting one of those fancy ink jet ones with 16 toner cartridges! Ha!

ah ... the HP Pavilion. Lamptop??? That's what I have. I HATE it. I've had several people tell me they have no issues with their Vista system. So I think part of my problem is hardware compatibility ... and I blame HP. It comes and goes. But my biggest problems are with graphic programs, which are supposed to be improved with Vista. GRRRR!!!!!!!!

Vista just published their Service Pack update. If you dont' have it already, try to download it and see if it helps.

Ha ha! Yep, the lamptop. I thought it was more of a nightlight, but as I use it, and that strange switch gets easier and easier to actuate... I don't know. I will look for the service pack updates. I've only been able to update this Norton protection thing once. Also, there a graphics driver upgrade and such I'm trying to figure out how to get on here. A 50 MB upgrade does NOT like dial-up speed. And I'm a rebel right now about faster, more expensive. Thanks to all for your help and condolences! quote:
