I was sitting at work tonight listening to SG music, mostly the Cathedrals and Legacy Five. I started thinking about all of the songs that were written by Roger Bennett. He wrote a bunch of good ones. Which one was your favorite? For me it would have to be When The World Looks At Me. I absolutely love that song! A close second would be Heroes Of The Faith.

This song is my #2. Cool story... I was in deep depression a few years ago because of some events in my life. For days, I would cry myself to sleep. I used my cd player as my alarm clock...because it was REALLY loud. ( it take a lot to wake me up ) Anyway, my cd player would start playing a cd at the given time each morning, but it always started at the beginning of the disk. Then one morning after a horrid night, for some reason, it started its wake-me-up on track 7. Track 7 on this cd was He's Been There. The words of that song ministered to my soul that morning...that was the beginning of my healing.

ORIGINAL: danielmount My favorite is "Home Free." I don't think Roger wrote this one, I believe it was Wayne Watson. Anyway I agree with you that this was probably my favorite song that he was featured on with L5. My favorites he wrote: "Jesus Saves" and "I found grace"

I'd have to say my fav Roger Bennett song would be "In His Grip" from the Heroes of the Faith cd. Even though Fowler got the lead, Roger still used it to sign his journals and SN articles. I absolutely love this song!

He definitely wrote some good ones. The thing I like about working the overnight shift is that I am usually the only one in the Police Station so I have plenty of time to sit and listen to SG. Last night, about every other song I listed to was written by Roger. That is what got me to thinking about starting this topic, especially when I heard When The World Looks At Me. The words to that song get me every time.

A very tough point in my life and God led me straight to them. I never got to see them live, but meeting L5 in 2000 was the best! Meeting Scott and Roger was like an extension of Glen and George. Roger's songs truly minister to the soul, from God's lips to Roger's fingers! Pen and piano (with Debbie's help too!) I totally believe that.

Jesus Saves: I can just hear him saying "I can guarantee that as long as I am able, I will do my dead level best to tell the world that it's the blood of Jesus that saves souls." Roger Bennett is MY hero of the faith.
