My dd turned 2 in March. Ever since then, I've been looking for her 2 year molars, but they have not shown up. There have been times here and there since then that she has just be fussy with no explanation except that maybe her teeth were trying to come in. She had all the symptoms of teething, but I could see nothing. Well, today...oh, today...she has been screaming and crying all morning. I am not over-exaggerating. I tried everything, and finally just put her in her bed. She has finally, at 11 AM calmed down a little, but the least little disturbance will set her off. My boys, ages 4 and 5, were not like this with teething, or ever as I can remember, not this long and not this unconsolable. So, what do you do when your children are like this? I already feel like it should be bedtime because she has just exhausted me this morning. She doesn't want to be held. I have tried that so much...and she will just cry louder and wiggle to get away. I am soooo tired. I don't know what to do for her.

Maybe she has an ear infection. My kids were like that - unconsolable -when they had ear aches. Something is hurting her.

She slept a little...maybe she was just overtired or something.
BUT she did have a little bit of a temp, but it was on and off, even without the medicine.
AND she has raised areas, kind of like this /\ on her gums in the back. It looks like a long mountain kind of...straight up and straight down. I have been feeling of her gums regularly, and this is new. So, maybe the teeth are trying to break through... I don't know if my explanation makes sense or not, but I can't figure out how to explain it.

We had to go out for some errands...and she told me when we got home that she was tired. So, I fed her lunch and put her down for her nap. I haven't heard a peep from her since...

It sounds like it is her teeth. You could try gum numbing stuff (you know the name) or let her suck on ice cubes or a very cold rag. It may help numb it enough to make it bareable. My dd's never had problems with their teething but these are a few things I have heard from other mommies.

My daughter was a wreck with teething because it came during allergy season. So we went through days of Tylenol. If it had been easier I would have preferred not to use Tylenol that often. Personally, I would get her checked out by the doctor if her crying goes on for more than the day. Then you will know what's going on if she acting like this is so unusual.

She has been better today, but I have kept up with the teething help suggestions from the pediatrician in his little booklet he gives to patients. So, she's done much better today... *sigh* of relief...I thought that yesterday morning was going to make me crawl under the table and hide...for days! She has never been much of a cryer, so this was unusual for her. I hope that the teeth come through quickly.......
