It's not really a secret as I try to encourage others with my story, but I need to say it anyway. I am an alcoholic and I suffer from a sexual addiction.

I have not drank in almost four years. I am tempted though. I live in Ontario and here alcohol cannot be sold in regular stores. It has to be sold in government owned or licensed stores. It is getting difficult to drive past a liquor store without stopping. I have the feeling like I need a bottle of stiff drink.

I am getting through a sexual addiction and it is still difficult. I am tempted to look at porn or allow a non-Christian lady into my life -- which we all know where that would go.

Also, I have been getting almost an attitude with the people I work with. Even one Christian brother I brought on to the job. Perhaps this is related. Perhaps it is the start of depression again. I suffered from depression since I was a child, but have been relieved from it for around a year now -- perhaps longer.

James 5:16(AMP) Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

God bless.

Praise God for His work in you TRF !

Have you sought counseling for the underlying depression or read some good Christian based books on depression & anger?

You will be prayed for...

Do you have a church for support and even more important do you have brothers (in Christ) to hold you accountable?
Does your church know?
I have been clean and sober for 13 yrs now and these were the things that kept me clean.
When you empty something out, you need to fill it with something. For me it was a desire for knowledge of God.
My brothers and sisters still hold me accountable but I don't have the desires now and have not had them for some time.
One of the problems we have is when we keep our struggles to ourselves. When we are keeping these things secret we are fighting the battle alone and I assure you that you alone are no match for the evil one.
Confessing your sins to one another is a way of life for me now.

Ken

Good for you TRF! I've found that the only sin that has power is the one that goes unconfessed.

There is a website called www.xxxchurch.com that deals with pornography addiction and to some extent sexual addiction. Give them a look. There is also a group called sexaholics anonymous (I belive at www.sa.com) that deal swith sex addictions on the AA model.

Praying for you.
