How many stores/restaurants selling coffee are within a 1-mile radius of your home? 0

Where I live is pretty out of the way. If I lived on my prefered side of town there would be more.

How do you set the one mile limit? The only options I have under refine are "neighborhood" or "user ratings". Neighborhood only pulls up a list of just that, neighborhoods. Unfortunately they're all in NYC and I live 60 miles away from there.

Zzzzzzactly. What I can't figure out is why they didn't know that. And what about all the Walgreens, Subway Sandwich Shops, McDonalds, Burger Kings, and Crispy Cremes, that just keep building and building within a short distance of each other and one another. Surely, Starbucks and Walgreens are the worst offenders in my area, followed closely by Subway, McDs and BKs.

What proper business sense causes them to build and build and build? Is there some business idea I just don't understand? Surely no one is surprised by the closures in Starbucks, and I would expect others to follow.

When I Googled my neighborhood and found 2 grocery stores, neither are hardly grocery stores! They are more like corner stores -- one old fashioned-type and one 7-Eleven. The nearest grocery store is actually 1.6 miles away.

Hm-m-m-m.

Uncabeeil,
Your Google may come on your screen differently, for some reason. If you bring up your address, then set the + so that there are 5 steps above it, that will give you a window that shows about a 1 mile radius from your home.

Along with a Target that's not a SuperTarget, 3.

How many stores/restaurants selling coffee are within a 1-mile radius of your home?
5

How many Starbucks are within a 1-mile radius of your home?
2-- but they left out the one inside the grocery store, so 3.

I like having a Walgreen's close. I don't want to go all over creation to go buy drugs when I'm sick. So lots of those ... 'bring em on!!!! I just moved and the closest walgreen's is a few miles. I might switch to Longs, they're closer.

I also want more Gas Stations. I have an Am/PM nearby, but then the next closest one is several miles away. I dont' like am/pm.

Nope. Just a beef -- actually, a few beefs -- with Walgreens.

Fair enough.

I've never really been to Longs for pharmacy type stuff. I've always been near Walgreens and have never had anything different.

Oh this is easy and I don't even have to do the goggle maps thing.

How many grocery stores are within a 1-mile radius of your home? 2 Both are little mom and pop sorts of places. One is a block away and the other is roughly 3 blocks away. The nearest "real" grocery store is roughly 10 miles away.

How many stores/restaurants selling coffee are within a 1-mile radius of your home? 2 Both are the same mom and pop's mentioned above.

How many Starbucks are within a 1-mile radius of your home? nearest Starbucks is roughly 10 miles away just across the street from the above mentioned "real" grocery store.

The nearest gas station is 6 1/2 miles away - the next little town over - they don't have a "real" grocery store either.

Nearest drugstore about 10 miles. It's a Walgreens.

Blessings,

Garsy

Okay, got it!

Grocery stores within one mile - 40 (includes convenience stores, delis, and supermarkets)
Serving coffee - 48
Starbuck's - 0

I guess I'm in a slightly more urban area than most of those who have posted so far.

They didn't give you a correct readout, Uncabeeil!! The whole area would be grocery stores!!

No, I looked at the list, and it's pretty accurate. I know for a fact there are 2 supermarkets and half a dozen convenience stores within a 15 minute walk. It's very crowded here on the Jersey shore. My city's population in the last census was close to 50,000 and growing daily.

My readout was not correct either

There is 1 grocery store within one mile.

There is 1 coffee shop , 2 gas stations that serve coffee and a McDonalds within a mile.

however in this area, we drive everywhere, so there are actually probably 20 places I could get coffee from within a 5 mile radius. There are 1 starbucks, 2 dunkin donuts, 2 mcdonalds, 2 burger kings, 2 panera breads + all the gas stations that serve coffee.

There are Starbuck's stores on practically every corner where I lived in the Dallas area-- free-standing stores, stores inside the supermarkets, stores inside Super Target-- but I still have never seen anything like I saw in Minneapolis last weekend. On my hotel's lot was a Caribou Coffee and an Einstein Bros. Bagels. Right across the narrow, one-way street, not 50 yards away, was ANOTHER Caribou Coffee, this one with a drive-thru!!!

I got a bagel at Einstein's then drove across the street to the drive-thru for coffee.

I thought this was going to be a thread about choosing between buying groceries or coffee.
