Hey ya'll!!
I have situation where I will absolutely love your input cuz right now I am stuck in the middle ...

Well my situation is that I'm starting to study for Pharmacy Technician in a college here in the good ol' land of Canadaand today in my lecture class, my prof was discussing about dispensing drugs and how one might not agree with a certain drug or not ....

One girl working at a pharmacy had a situation where a man came in with a prescription of female hormones
and as a pharmacy technician, even if you dont believe in sex change, or patients buyin syringes for drugs such as heroin .... the pharmacy technician still has to sell the drug or products

As a christian, I feel like I cannot do that becuase my belief is way stronger than my "work beliefs".

So what do you guys think? If you were in my situation, what would you guys do? would you withdraw from this program?

thanks guys!!! Any advice is greatly appreciated

If you cannot do the job because of your conscience, and you know that ahead of time, I would suggest going into another field.

Thanks ta_mosquito .... I think I will think of another career to go into

I just wish I knew this ahead of time but that's ok ...
Better to find out now than later cuz i would have wasted more money later

But tell me ... as a Christian, would you be able to do something like that?

I don't know if I could or not. I'd have to do some deep soul-searching and discussion with God to determine whether I could or not.

I'm going to disagree somewhat.

In any job you are not going to be able to enforce your personal beliefs. Your job is to be objective. So as long it isn't illegal, you are to do it. The economy and job market isn't such that you can pick and choose according to your morals.

I totally agree, Miss Giggles. That's why I said that if she feels she cannot do this, she shouldn't go into the field.

That is very true, Miss Giggles ...

but I'm trying to put myself in God's shoes you know and ask myself the question, WWJD?

Because in a way I fee as if I'm "participating" and helping the person transform themselves into a gender that God did not designed for them to be you know what I mean guys?
That's what is holding me back.
Like what is God thinkin at this moment

I was an IT consultant for 4 years.. People would ask me all the time to put software on their computers even though they didn't have the licensing for it..

After much soul searching and discussion,
They only thing I could do was mention that their software licensing was not in compliance and if they got caught they could get heavily fined.

If i wouldn't had installed the software and tried to install my Christian values, I would have never worked or had any clients..

Good for you for having a heart to stand up for Christ! I think that you should go into the career that God has for you. If it is pharmacy tech, then do that. If it is something else, then do that. No matter what you do, there are going to be instances where you are going to have to choose whether to stand for Christ or compromise.

Often we think a witness for Christ is to preach to people or invite them to church. But more often than not, it is our integrity in the marketplace and our commitment to excellence - our commitment to Christ. You can be up front with employers and others that there are certain things that you will not do because you are a Christian. No one is going to make a Muslim or Jewish person handle pork if they work in a supermarket for example - and they shouldn't make you do certain things either. You might get some flak from your co-workers - but if you have discussed these things with your employer prior to you being hired and you are consistent with your walk, God will be glorified. And people will stop asking you to do things that are wrong because they know that you will not do it. They will respect you for it and they will respect your walk with Christ.

If you do what is right, God will make provision for you - He will make honor you because you honor Him. Don't listen to people who tell you that you need to do wrong things to keep your job or to have clients or to prosper. I'm sure people told Truett Cathy (the founder of Chik-Fil-A) that when he decided to close his restaurants on Sunday because he wanted to honor the sabbath. Chik-Fil-A made 3.5 billion dollars in 2005. God can provide. We serve at the pleasure of God and we are promoted by God. Step out and trust God - He will not disappoint you. Put God first - and let the chips fall where they may. God will take care of you (he's done it for me).

So if He is leading you in this direction, then go and be an excellent pharmacy technician. Do not be afraid of people or the 1% chance that someone is going to ask you for some sort of sex-change hormonal drug. Ask the Lord for wisdom to deal with these kinds of situations should they arise.

There is a guy here named Jay Sekulow - you can google his site. He comes on the radio and deals with the rights that Christians have in the workplace. He is American, but he or others on his staff might be able to help you with your situation (or at least point you in the right direction). You might be protected under the law so that you can refrain from doing certain types of things due to your religious belief. It would be helpful to know those things up front so that you can discuss them with employers if needed.
