All I want to do is voice my opinion bluntly and truthfully. Differences of opinion keep these forums interesting. You should not expect everyone to candycoat their opinion so much that it sounds like we are all saying the same thing. Welcome differences of opinion!! If you like a group and I explain why I don't like them, don't accuse me of being rude and to please be more tactful!! And don't discourage me from voicing my opinion because the artists visit this forum. If I were an artist, I would want the fans to "give it to me straight"; if someone did not like my work, I would want to know exactly why.

Amen? Amen!

No one is mad at you...those of us who responded to your post just didn't agree with you. Would you like to see criticism about you written in an anonomous form or would you rather hear it in person? That's all we stated...be mindful of those who read the forums. It's easy to criticize under the cover of an anonomous internet forum than to go up to a person and express our feelings about them. Would you like to turn the computer on and find such being written about you without the ability to confront the person??? Chadoaksfan...what you stated was attacking not constuctive criticism. There are several groups I really don't care for but I don't come on here and proclaim my opinions...I chose to keep it to myself. If you have an issue with one then contact them directly and express your opinions. We welcome you here and hope you stick around.

I fully agree with Lynn's post. Too much attacking an individual or group. No need for the attacks. And yes we all have differing opinions. But we can tactfully state our opinion without being so rude. Just my humble opinion.

It depends, do you try to attack rather than give loving, constructive opinions as the Bible clearly tells us to do? If so, probably folks will get mad or at the very least strongly disagree with your posts. Do you start topics that will incite?

Truth and bluntness are not inseparable twins. Truth said in love does not leave a bitter taste to all to taste it. Tact isn't a bad word or a compromise with the truth, it is just considering other's feelings in how you say things.

No, not around here. At least not from what I have seen at least. Now, before anyone gets all mad at me I will be a little more tactful and polite. What I am saying is there is a better way to go about saying what you think. I can agree with what you said in your first post but once the replies started coming in it seemed that you took it personal....or maybe they took it personal...confusing, but either way once personal feelings get involved it has a tendency to get ugly fast around here. Been there, done that, got a t-shirt.

Differences in opinion should be handled with tact not attacks.

It is very hard to discern emotion on a message board and one person's straightforward or blunt statement easily becomes an attack to another person.

A good rule to go by is pretend you are on a pedestal in a public place with people shouting criticism at you and how that would make you feel. Criticism can easily become humiliation if not handled carefully in a public place.

And while you might be privacy of your own home or office make no mistake this is a public place with thousands of onlookers.

In Christian love,

Dana

An attack is something that is based on a lie or an exaggeration of the truth. I simply talked about facts--what was said at the concert, what was sung at the concert, what was put on the cd cover--you guys are the ones attacking--attacking my right to voice my opinion. Do you consider movie reviews attacks? I gave you my review of a concert.
