From Bill Sammon****When Hillary Clinton told a tall tale about "landing under sniper fire" in Bosnia, she was accused of "inflating her war experience" by rival Democrat Barack Obama's campaign.

But the campaign has been silent about Obama's running mate, Joe Biden, telling his own questionable story about being "shot at" in Iraq.

"Let's start telling the truth," Biden said during a presidential primary debate sponsored by YouTube last year. "Number one, you take all the troops out - you better have helicopters ready to take those 3,000 civilians inside the Green Zone, where I have been seven times and shot at. You better make sure you have protection for them, or let them die."****

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/30/unlike-clinton-biden-gets-pass-saying-shot-iraq/

Why the pass by the major news media for Joe's gross exaggeration and the extreme scrutiny of Hillary? Could it be because Obama is their guy?

Could it be that they've just become overwhelmed by Biden's lies? Of course not, they're protecting him. He is a prolific liar.

Well, when Palin finally manages to provide a coherent answer or two, we can begin to compare notes.

I wonder if it's so much a lie as a delusion of grandeur. When asked for an explanation, he apparently didn't try to hide the details which are, shall we say, a bit less dramatic than what was implied by his earlier statement. If he'd originally lied, he would have tried to cover it up. If he's just a nutty guy, he probably believes what he says.

After following politics for 26 or so years I have heard so little truth that I am almost totally dumbed down to lies. What would be news to me is some truth from anyone.

from the FOX "news" article:

The senior senator from Delaware went on to say that some sort of projectile "landed" outside a building in the Green Zone where he and another senator had spent the night during a visit in December 2005. The lawmakers were shaving in the morning when they felt the building shake, Biden said.

....if that is true...it sounds like a mortar landed in the vicinity...so technically, he was not "shot at".....but was in the area of hostile fire.

If any of you have in the area of a mortar explosion, I wonder how you would describe it?

So every time one's hears a gun shot and or an explosion technically they are being shot at?

Here's what the Palin team should do during the debate. Have somebody drop a light bulb in the studio, then watch as biden ducks under the desk.

No - that isn't what I wrote.

Biden should have been more precise of course.

However, his statement was not on the same level of distortion as that of Hillary Clinton...

"Precise" and "distortion"? Are you avoiding the terms 'truth' and 'Lie' intentionally?

His lie wasn't as outlandish? Wow... Surely something to rest in, Biden doesn't tell as big as lies as Hillary Clinton...

Uh... maybe it's just that you've been swallowing the Great One's oratory so long that concise, simple, well stated sentences in English confuse you.

Biden can, honestly, say just about anything from here on out, and it matters not. He could recite Mary Had A Little Lamb tomorrow night and flip off the audience and no one would blink an eye. Someone mentioned a lower bar for Governor Palin, but really, Biden can no longer shock anyone with what he says, no matter if he thought of it, or Neil Kinnock.

I'm guessing that if you're a desk-weenie like me, a mortar round coming within even a half a mile of me might qualify as being shot at. I'd need clean britches, anyway.
