Anybody know Stephen Hill? It's his dad. I got a letter from him a few years ago, and haven't heard of his passing. I think one of his singing comarades, Bob Shaw, would have told me if he had passed away.

OK, Gordon Hill has been deleted from that list. PS, just for any young folks that doesn't know who he is, Gordon Hill was the ORIGINAL bass singer of the Statesmen Quartet, followed by Aycel Soward, and then followed by The Big Chief.

It breaks my heart to say it, but hes not there.

No im saying from the friends, loved ones, and those close to him, they were praying for his salvation. And from what they have all told me, he never changed, made a profession, or did anything to make them believe otherwise.

I'm assuming by the way you are telling us this that you are not comfortable with giving the exact name? If so, that's absolutely fine.

THere may be one on the list, or for that matter there may be more than one, that didn't make it. But I refuse to use hearsay, even if it is from family and friends, to place any of them anywhere other than Heaven. We will never know till such time as we ourselves get there. I just can't stand to hear preachers, or other people, preach someone into Heaven of out of Heaven for that matter. I am not saying you are doing this you are simply repeating what you have been told. Friend that is a bad habit to get into.

Fortunately for you, your salvation does not depend on what others think of you or tell other people what they think they know about you. Fortunately for me, my salvation does not depend on such behavior neither. This extends to absolutely every human being; even to the person of whom you're referring to in your post. I'm very sure that there are going to be a lot of shocked people when their eternity comes and they look around to see who they'll be spending it with. quote:

None of us need to be speculating, on any level; publicly nor privately, as to who is not in Heaven. It is is no way any of our places to do so. Additionally, since the above two posts are dealing with someone who lived a public life, please consider the feelings of friends and family left behind. It is beyond cruel to even be having this conversation; especially on a public forums that could very well be read by such friends and family. There is absolutely no good that could come from such speculation.

still thinking about this . . . Additionally, since the speculative post was put at the end of a long list of people no longer living, that is going to cause some people who are still living to scrutinize such list trying to figure out exactly who was being signaled out. That doesn't need to be done neither.

Hidee, I am almost sure that Jay Simmons is still living in NC. I think some of my Plainsmen friends would have notified me if he passed on. quote:
