I LOVE Rich Mullins!!! This is a great song, but truthfully I find it hard to sing it in a group. The verses are not conducive to group singing & many churches sing it way to slow. I kept trying to get our music minister in AL to speed it up. I always felt like we were singing a funeral dirge & this song is SO not that!!!

I do really like this song. Whenever we do it at church we sing the Humble Thyself as the verses and then Awesome God as the chorus.

Funny thing - we sang this song in church today (I think it's only the 2nd time we've sung it in the 3 years we've been attending). It fit perfectly with the sermon, so I guess that's why. They did sing it slower than I like, but it was actually not dragging. Maybe it's because it was a full band playing, but with just the organ at our church in AL, it always felt like I was at a funeral!
